Planner Hats

The Planner Hats: Honeyeh Yazdizadeh, Hosna Hamdieh. Adrian Bolesnikov, Tina Yazdizadeh, Samantha Sieklicki
Quick look at the problem: Event planning is a hard and time consuming process and it would be a waste if not enough people show up. To make sure you are on the right path it is vital to both know your potential competitors and the times they are holding their events. Finding the perfect time might not be possible without an overall undrestanding of the domain's active players (groups) or popular event times and days.
Our aim: Helping event planners to findout about other events, groups holding them and when they can have their own events.
Overview:
In this part active (hodling events) groups in the meta category selected will be shown, giving a general idea about who the main competitors could be. Parameters taken into consideration are as fallowed:
The groups' member count
The groups' average yes RSVP count (the average event attendance)
The number of events held by the groups
Note: There are filters facilitating personalization like selecting month, meta category, ect, so users are encouraged to take advantage of this filters to see what is most relevent to them.
To give an overall view of popular times and days, the two other line graphs are presented. The graphs can be changed by going to the top of vertical heading and clicking on the small diagram poping up, to see either sorted bar charts going from more to less or less to more.
The video shows how filters could be used and how things could look different based on the filters used.
Calendar view of the events:
Weekly view of events:
By chosing a certain domain and selecting a specific month, the events' overview of the weeks are shown.
Daily view of events:
By choosing a certain domain and selecting a specific week, the events' overview of the days are shown.
In this visual the duration of events is clear and if two events happen at the same time it will be shown as well. It is safe to say that it is better to go for times or days that your potential competitors do not have an event booked to maximize attendance.
